Heart to heart.

Psalm 18:6 says, “I cried out to you in my distress, the delivering God, and from your temple-throne you heard my troubled cry. My sobs came right into your heart and you turned your face to rescue me”.

A few weeks ago I mentioned how important it is to cry out to God (see our post “Cry out to Him”). See, what happens when we cry out to God is that He hears us. That’s what our verse today is saying. When we cry out to God, our cries penetrate the heart of God and He turns His face to rescue us.

God may not always rescue us in the way that we want or envision He will rescue us, but He will always rescue us. God is faithful. When we walk with Him and are led by His Spirit we are His children and He is such a good Father.

Our Father is always reaching out before we even know we need a hand to catch us. Covering us before we even know we are vulnerable. Loving us before we even know our worth. Caring for us before we even have a care in the world.

How much more would our loving Father reach out for us when we open our mouths and just cry out to Him? He hears. I love praying in the Spirit because I may not always know what I am praying but I know that God hears me, He understands me, my prayers touch His heart and He turns His face to rescue me. I hope you believe that for yourself as you go through your week this week.

Have a blessed week!
