Is that a Father who sounds distant and mad or one who is so enamoured with His kids that He would give anything and everything for them?

Flawless

God is not keeping a record of your mistakes.

"Yet what honor you have given to men, created only a little lower than Elohim, crowned with glory and magnificence."

So we have all hurt Jesus one way or another yet God did not stop at just forgiveness, He reconciled us to Himself.

“So now wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises!”

Why does God continue to save, rescue us and deliver us even when the mess we are in is totally our fault?

"...the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."

He knows what it’s like when life is unfair or life feels heavy and hard. He knows what it’s like to suffer and struggle.

"Books were opened, and then another book was opened: the Book of Life. The dead were judged by what they had done as recorded in the books...."

We serve a real God and there are real consequences for the decisions we make in this life.
