Do you know that you are loved? I have been reminding myself a lot lately that God loves me. I have realised that there are times when we get caught up in doing things, going to church, reading our Bible, reading that latest book on grace that sometimes we neglect to take a moment to reflect on the very complex yet simple fact that God loves us. The only complexity to speak of is understanding the breadth and depth of His love but it is an unquestionable fact that indeed we have a Father who loves us. Do you know how many verses in the Bible tell us about God’s love? Well, this week make it your goal to go look for them in the Bible. I’ll start you off with this verse:
1 John 4:8-10
“But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins”.
We sometimes get the wrong idea of who God is so it is hard to accept that He loves us, but that verse tells us that God is love. If you are unsure what love looks like, I encourage you to read 1 Corinthians 13:1-13.
Have a blessed week and know that you are loved.
