Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NASB says, “The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil”.
Sometimes we may get so focused on doing the right thing when there are people around us but neglect to do the right thing when we think no one is watching. This verse is a reminder that whether people are watching or not, whether we are alone or surrounded by people, may our decisions and our actions line up with the fear of the Lord (which is the reverence we give to Him as our Holy God, not fear as in terror). Our actions are to line up with the written word of God. If we do things God’s way, we will have good success in our lives, but if we put up a front and cut corners, God always looks at the heart and its intentions- it will not get us far.
May all our actions whether in secret places or around others be ones that line up with the word of God and may they glorify the One by whose Name we are called Christians, Christ Jesus. Let’s lay all our cards down before God and stop hiding that He may direct our steps and teach us His ways.
Have a blessed Tuesday.
