Never changing.

As the year came to an end in 2020, I could not help but be in awe of the faithfulness of God. The year 2020 was a lot of different things to different people but the one thing that never changed was God. He is steadfast and unchanged by circumstances. Note, I said He is not changed by our circumstances not that He is not touched or moved by them. Jesus was recorded as having compassion on people as He ministered during His time on Earth.

Christmas is such a great reminder of how Jesus was born as a human being so He could fully experience life as we experience it and so He could relate to us. Our God understands us. I have seen a lot of memes and TikToks about 2021 and the general theme is that some people are scared of 2021. 2020 has left a lot of people shook. The uncertainty of the days ahead seems a bit daunting to some. We may not all be concerned about the same things. For some it may be finances, for others it may be health or something else.

Well, I am here today to assure you that the same God who took care of you, provided for you, healed you and came through for you in so many ways in 2020 and in previous years, is the same God who is entering 2021 with you. He has not changed and He will never change. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever, Hebrews 13:8. He is the never changing God.

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!

Lamentations 3:22-24

As the new year starts, our eyes need to be on the One whose faithfulness never ends. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is with us always. I’m reminded of a song by Maverick City (feat. Naomi Raine and Joe L Barnes) called Promises. Some of the words are as follows:

“I put my faith in Jesus, my anchor to the ground. My hope and firm foundation, He’ll never let me down… Great is Your faithfulness to me. Great is Your faithfulness to me. From the rising sun to the setting same, I will praise your Name, Great is Your faithfulness to me.”

God is faithful. You are loved beyond measure and in His Presence there is safety.

Love and blessings
