Last week I mentioned how God sometimes takes us through processes that will humble us. As we come to the end of 2020 I think it is important that we end on that matter of humility. James 4:6 says, “But he continues to pour out more and more grace upon us. For it says, God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.”
2020 was a hard year but the very fact that you are reading this message means you have made it through this year. It’s no time to pat ourselves on the back but to humble ourselves before God and realise that we could not have made it but for His grace and mercy towards us. God kept us. God protected us. God saved us. We are nothing without Him. In Him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28).
This week, I want us to take time individually to thank God for the many blessings that we received in 2020 and to thank Him that we are still here and that we have been given the opportunity to go into 2021. May we praise Him and bless His Name for He is good. A lot of things may have happened in 2020 that we do not understand but we choose to put our trust in Him. We don’t know what the future holds but our hope for 2021 is found in Jesus. Not in our ability to take care of ourselves or pray up a storm but simply our hope is found in the Person that is Jesus.
I pray that you have encountered God like never before in 2020 and that it is only the beginning of what God has prepared for you in 2021.
Love and blessings
Melissa Tsingano.
