Never forgotten

Last week we looked at how you are not going to miss what God has for you as long as you keep following Him. This week I want to talk to people who feel as though they have already missed it. I can tell you now that being 32 and single, the thought has crossed my mind that maybe I have missed God’s plan for marriage in my life. BUT, nothing could be further from the truth. So, when that thought crosses my mind, I know it’s the enemy trying to get me to doubt what God has said and trying to make me walk away from what God has for me.

I know that I haven’t missed it because God is faithful. If He said it, whatever “it” may be to you, you better believe that He will do it. I don’t know what God has promised you, or what you may be waiting on, but I know that if He said it, He will do it. God is faithful. You have not missed it.

My favourite verse when it comes to this is found in Numbers 23:19 which says, “God is not a man, so he does not lie.  He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” Or in the MSG, “God is not man, one given to lies, and not a son of man changing his mind. Does he speak and not do what he says? Does he promise and not come through?”

God always comes through! Can I get an Amen!! Lol. I don’t know what the enemy has been telling you that you have missed but I can tell you that if you have been following Jesus like we talked about last week, you have not missed it. Keep walking. God is not fazed by the things that we think discount us from His promises like our age, look at Sarah she had a baby at 90 years old. Or being in a foreign land, look at Joseph who was sold as a slave and became prime minister of the land he was once a slave in. Or Hannah who cried out to God because she couldn’t have kids and God blessed her with children, one of which was the prophet Samuel.

God will always do what He said He will do. Things may not look the way we expect them to look. We may not even be where we thought we would be but it does not mean that He has forgotten us. Isaiah 49:14-16 says, “Yet Jerusalem says, “The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.” “Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands…”

I love that. God has not forgotten you and Jeremiah 1:12 says, “The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”” Once God has spoken something, He keeps an eye on it to make sure it is fulfilled. We may lose sight of it, but God can see it clear as day. He is watching over His word to perform it.

Psalm 84:11 says, “For the Lord God is brighter than the brilliance of a sunrise! Wrapping himself around me like a shield, he is so generous with his gifts of grace and glory. Those who walk along his paths with integrity will never lack one thing they need, for he provides it all!” Or in the NLT, “For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” So, all we need to do is stay on the path, following Jesus Christ.

God is not withholding any good thing from you. I don’t know what He promised you, but you have not missed it. If He said it, He will do it. Keep following Him. Keep pursuing Him. Don’t give up because God is so faithful. He will not let you down.

Love and blessings,

Melissa Tsingano.
