An open invitation.

Isaiah 55:1 says, “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money. Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free!

The Kingdom of God is like no other kingdom we have heard of or ever known. One cannot buy their way in, because then the poor could never afford to get in. One cannot do enough deeds to earn themselves a right to enter, for there are simply not enough good deeds to cover over the iniquity and fallen condition of mankind.

However, the Bible is very clear that an open invitation has been extended to all those who are willing to listen. An invitation to drink from the fountain of life. An invitation to leave old ways in the past, die to ourselves so we may be raised to life in him. An invitation for a rebirth into the eternal Kingdom of the ever living God who was, is and is to come.

There is only one way into this Kingdom, one right of entry so to speak. His Name is Jesus. Only His blood can wash our sins as white as snow. Only His robe of righteousness can cover us and enable us to enter into the Presence of a Holy God. Only faith in Him (Jesus) can reconcile us to our heavenly Father.

The time to accept Jesus is now. It does not cost money, it requires faith. But God in His fairness and because He is a just God, He made sure to give every person a measure of faith, (see Romans 12:3). So that no one would be at a disadvantage to another. We all have equal opportunity to exercise our free will to choose Him and place our faith in Him.

If you have misplaced your faith in past times, it’s ok. Today is a new day. Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved”.

That is all it takes and yes, indeed it is that simple. For if it were complex then only the intellectual could enter the Kingdom. God has the same standards for every single person, “For God does not show favouritism“, Romans 2:11. The invitation is open, but it won’t be open forever. If you felt your heart beat faster as you read this, perhaps today is your day to make sure you are right with God. Below is a prayer to help you get started.

“Heavenly Father, I pray that You forgive me of all my sins. I am willing to turn away from my sins. I accept Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Saviour. Help me to follow Him from this moment on until we meet face to face. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.”

Make sure you find a good, bible teaching local church where you can be planted so you can learn how to walk out your salvation daily.

Have a blessed week.
