Meditate on His love.

Psalm 48:9 says, “Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love”.

The word “meditate” means to ponder or to speak or mutter. When people used to meditate on the word of God in olden days, they would read it loud enough for their ears to hear it.

When we are in the house of God, it is easy to meditate on His love for us in the faith filled environment that we get when we are experiencing true worship. So, what happens when we go into our week that makes us feel overwhelmed with life’s stuff and makes us forget of His love? I think we stop meditating on His love. We stop thinking about His love and more importantly, we stop hearing about it.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God“, see Romans 10:17. During our week, we need to maintain a faith filled atmosphere around us. We are to put on praise and worship music, or listen to sound teaching in podcasts or YouTube sermons. We must do what we can to ensure that we hear the word of God. Sometimes I listen to audio Bible as I go to bed. Hearing the word of God keeps Jesus at the forefront of our minds.

We need to be mindful that we are the temple of God, see 1 Corinthians 6:19. Therefore, in order to align ourselves with today’s verse, we need to make a decision for ourselves that in this temple, i.e. deep within us, we will meditate on His unfailing love. Such that no matter what storms come our way, we are convinced from deep within that God loves us and is for us.

Have a blessed week.
