John 14:29 says, “I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe“.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where everything seemed familiar, like it has happened before or you have seen it before? Some people refer to it as a déjà vu moment. I have come to realize that déjà vu moments exist only to tell us that God is speaking to us.
God is always speaking to us; through His written word, through His word when it is preached, through the witness of the Holy Spirit within us or through dreams when we are asleep. God is always reaching out to us to speak to us so that we may have faith and believe in Him.
I used to be very relaxed about how I handled the things God spoke to me, but I have since realized the importance of having a journal. It is important for us to record our prayers and the things that God speaks to us even if they come in dream form.
This is not the time for us to be reliant on what someone else heard God say. It is time for us to strengthen ourselves in the Lord and seek God for ourselves so He can speak to us directly. Pay attention to your dreams, pay attention to verses that jump out at you when you read the Bible. God is always speaking to us, it is up to us to listen.
Part of our relationship with God is communication and God wants to communicate with you. Stop blocking the lines with unnecessary things. Quiet yourself down in His Presence and hear what the Lord wants to say to you. When you hear Him speak, make sure you write it down because the Lord watches over His word to perform it, (see Jeremiah 1:12). Writing the word down is not for God’s benefit but ours. So, we can align our lives with what God is speaking to us.
God is speaking, can you hear Him? (p.s. If you cannot hear God, I recommend the book called, “4 Keys to hearing God’s voice” by Mark Virkler.)
Have a blessed week!
