Surely!

Be confident that when [not if] you make a mistake- the grace of God will catch you. The psalmist wrote in Psalm 23: 6 “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever”.

He was sure that God’s love would never fail him. God’s goodness and unfailing love pursues us each and every single day. All days in that verse means good days and bad days. Days when you are on top of things and days when you drop the ball. All days.

Also, the word “surely” there is not maybe or perhaps. Surely is otherwise written as definitely or without fail- goodness and unfailing love will pursue (chase after) me ALL the days of my life.

Don’t let your mind get bogged down by your mistakes because then you will spend your life running away from them. Let your love be focused on the love of God, then you may have peace in His forgiveness and rest in His love.

God is love (see 1 John 4:16) and His love never tires of chasing us down so He can be good to us. We don’t need to feel good or deserving, we just need to know that He is good and He loves us.

Have a blessed week.
