Poke alert!

Galatians 5:22-23

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

I have come to realize that the enemy knows our weaknesses. He knows how to get on our nerves and he knows what makes us uncomfortable. In other words, he knows where to poke. For me, it irks me when people are disorganised. In fact, it stresses me out and puts me on edge. Do you know what that is? Impatience. I am not afraid to admit that I have issues, if it will help you, lol! God is at work in all of us.

Anyway, I have realised that God put in my possession a very powerful tool. Free will. The freedom to choose. When the devil is poking at us, we can choose to either fall into the same trap every single time and in my situation- get stressed out. Or we can ask God to help mould our characters so we may be able to withstand the opposition. When we have the wrong reaction to a situation, we need to realise when we are falling into the trap of the enemy and bounce back quickly. Don’t be caught off guard, be sober minded and vigilant (1 Peter 5:8). Always ask Jesus to centre you in everything.

Whatever area the enemy pokes at, anchor yourself in Jesus. Let Him be your stronghold and your defence. Let Him teach you how you can rise above the situation and the fruit of the Spirit will have room to grow and become more evident in you. Lean into God, always. He is our strong tower and the source of our strength to help us withstand the pokes of the enemy. Thank God always for His work in you and be reminded that you do not stand on your own righteousness but Jesus Christ’s. You are doing great, keep moving forward. Someone needs to hear that today, so receive it, get up and keep moving forward with Jesus.

One fun fact about the fruit of the Spirit is that it is the Holy Spirit who works the fruit in us. He is the One who shapes us so that our lives may bear His fruit as we lean on Him. We cannot bear the fruit on our own.

Have a blessed week!
