I hear you.

Psalm 94:9 NLT:- “Is he deaf–the one who made your ears? Is he blind–the one who formed your eyes?

Sometimes when we are going through life’s ups and downs, we pray but we do not see an answer immediately so we think God did not hear us. It is easy to look around at the unchanging circumstances around you and think, “He didn’t hear me”. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

Psalm 139:2 NLT says, “You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away”. Do you know what far away in that verse means? Even when you have gone beyond conscious thought and you are just staring into space daydreaming such that if someone asks, “Hey, where did you go? What are you thinking?” You have no idea. Those thoughts that seem to be coming from a distant place, that take you far away, God knows them.  If God knows those thoughts that we are not even really sure what they are. How much more the thoughts we are conscious of? If He knows our conscious thoughts, how much more does He know what we speak? Not only does God know our thoughts, He hears us when we speak. He even knows the things you meant to say but did not say or could not say.

There is nothing that God wants more than to hear from His children. He said in Romans 10:13, “For anyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved”. How then would He know to save us if He could not hear us call? God hears us when we pray that is why 1 John 5:14 NIV says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us”. We approach God with confidence that He hears us. When we do not seem to be getting the answers we wanted from our prayers, it is an opportunity to trust Him and surrender to His will over the situation. God is a very good God. Today He is saying to you, “My child, stop your crying. I have heard your prayers. The answers are on the way. Hold on to My word”.

Today, I would like us to meditate on this verse below as we attune our hearts and minds to the wonderful news that God hears us.

Psalm 116:1-2 NLT: “I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!

Have faith and believe that God says, “I hear you”.
