Ready, set, go!

Philippians 3:13-16 says, “I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to them. And let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize, following one path with one passion.

2024 is gone. I have mixed feelings about that. Relieved in some ways because it was a hard year but also antsy about 2025 cause I’m like, “It’s gonna be good… right?” Lol. Fact is, whether 2024 was the best year ever or the worst year you have ever experienced, it is now behind you. We, as of today, have one job; to forget 2024 and every other year before it. We can’t go into 2025, with yesterday’s drama. Drop it off at the door so you enter 2025 full of hope and expectation. Looking back to whatever happened in 2024 will only slow you down as you try to run forward into all God has for you in 2025.

I am not saying brush your trauma or pain under the rug and pretend it does not exist. No. You need to face that and deal with that with God and with professionals as is necessary. What I am saying is that you should not let what happened in 2024 stop you from moving forward in 2025. Do not get stuck. God is always on the move. If the last thing you heard from God was 2 years ago, perhaps you are stuck. 2025 is a time to get unstuck and to start moving ahead with God.

Our title for today is loaded with meaning. Ready, means prepare yourself. Set, means position yourself. Go, means it’s time to get moving. We need to prepare ourselves mentally, physically and emotionally for 2025.

Hebrews 12:1-2 says, “As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us. We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

We also need to prepare ourselves spiritually. So what you didn’t get everything right in 2024? God does not expect you to be perfect. If we were perfect, we wouldn’t need a Saviour. Therefore, let us choose today to focus our attention and expectation on Jesus. Let us untangle ourselves from the mistakes of yesterday, for yesterday is gone. We have one goal. That is, to grow in our relationship with Christ and to have hearts that burn with passion for His Name.

We need to set ourselves and position ourselves for success. That is, we need to submit every area of our lives to the Lordship of Jesus. We will have victory in every area of life where Jesus is enthroned as King.

Lastly we need to start moving. 2025 is here. It has already started. We need to sharpen our hearing so we hear God’s voice when He says, “Go!” God wants us to advance His Kingdom in 2025. He wants us to take new territory. He wants us to get new victories. There is no victory without a battle. But cheer up, we are in a fixed fight. We will win because God is with us and He is for us.

Let us advance together into 2025 and be determined to pursue all that God has for us this year! It is going to be a good year!

With that in mind, I wish you and your family a happy new year and a God filled 2025!

Love and blessings,

Melissa Tsingano.
