I Believe… I am a winner!

Every seed reproduces after itself. Apple seeds can only produce apples. Tomato seeds can only produce tomatoes and a specific type of tomatoes at that, depending on the seed. Likewise, the child of a lion is a lion. It may only be a small cub when it’s born, but it is no less a lion than the mama lion from which it came.

1 John 3:2 says, “Beloved, we are God’s children right now; however, it is not yet apparent what we will become. But we do know that when it is finally made visible, we will be just like him, for we will see him as he truly is”.

We are God’s children. God is an overcomer. He is victorious. He is a winner. He is bold and He is strong. Do we believe the same to be true of ourselves since we are His children or do we look at ourselves as less than, weak and defeated? We need to stop allowing the lies of the enemy strip us of our true identity in Christ. Our verse today tells us that we are God’s children, right now. Not tomorrow and not when… Right now. Meaning, we have every single thing that we need in us right now. We are overcomers, we are victorious, we are winners, we are bold and we are strong in Him.

Romans 8:37 says, “Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors,[f] and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything![g]”

Footnotes:

f.       Romans 8:37: Love has made us more than conquerors in four ways: (1) No situation in life can defeat us or dilute God’s love. (2) We know that divine love and power work for us to triumph over all things. (3) We share in the victory spoils of every enemy we face (Isa. 53:12). (4) We have conquered the Conqueror with merely a glance of our worshiping eyes. We have won his heart (Song. 4:9; 6:5).

g.      Romans 8:37: Clearly implied in the text with the Greek word hupernikao. The love of God gives us “a glorious hyper-victory,” more than can be described or contained in one word. God’s love and grace has made us hyper-conquerors, empowered to be unrivaled, more than a match for any foe!

How amazing is that! The footnotes paint quite a picture hey, so beautifully put. When we believe in God and we believe that we are who He says we are, we become unstoppable just like Jesus is unstoppable. The same power that enabled Jesus to do all He did in His Earth years and brought Him back to life, is the same power that lives in you and me. We have no reason to be fearful of life’s circumstances. We have no reason to doubt whether or not we will make it because we know who is with us and whose we are. We are children of God. “God’s love and grace has made us hyper-conquerors, empowered to be unrivaled, more than a match for any foe!”

No one likes to lose but sometimes we allow ourselves to be defeated simply because we do not believe what God’s word says about us. We are God’s children and we are more than conquerors. We talk about moving from glory to glory but some of us are still stuck in 2009’s glory because we haven’t allowed the word of God to do its work in us and reveal to us who we are so we can walk in new revelation and firmer understanding of who God has called us to be.

We need to not only read the word of God, but we need to believe it if we want to see it bear fruit in our lives. If we believe that we are more than conquerors, then more than conquerors we will become as the seed of God’s word reproduces after itself in us. We are winners in Christ.

Love and Blessings,
