Strong God.

1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour“.

Recently I was reminded that sometimes we make the devil bigger than he is. I have heard the above multiple times and most of those times the devil was said to be a lion. He is not a lion. He prowls around like one and he may even roar like one but the Bible does not call him a lion. He is a liar-yes, not a lion. The Word says he prowls and roars “like” a lion. 

Jesus on the other hand IS the Lion of Judah. He is our fierce Defender! He is our God of angel armies. He is fearless! He does not need to pretend to be anything because He already told us in Exodus that “I AM”. He is the truth. He is the only way to heaven. He is the life. (See John 14:6) He is whatever He wants to be and whoever you need Him to be. If it is healing you need, He is God our Healer! If it is provision, He is the supplier of all our needs.

Be alert and of sober mind, our verse tells us. Do not be deceived into believing that your problems are too big or too small for God. Take everything to Him in prayer. Believe for the impossible. Greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world- ALWAYS.
