Wishful thinking.

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see”. Hope, in a worldly sense is wishful thinking for example, “I hope it does not rain today” or “I hope I arrive on time”. However, in the word of God, hope is a confident expectation that something will happen. It is not a “fingers crossed” type of situation. Hope is to put one’s trust in the Lord to accomplish something.

Now, we all have hopes but some of them air on the side of wishful thinking. This week, let’s ask God to show us where our hopes are not aligned with His word so we may stop wishing for things to happen and start confidently expecting them to happen. That way, our faith will have something to grab a hold of and we will see the outer working of our faith as God breathes life into our hopes.

Have a blessed week!
