Says who?

Last week we read in Isaiah 9:6 that Jesus is an Extraordinary Strategist. As the year comes to an end, some people sink into sadness and despair because they feel they did not do or accomplish all they had to do. They feel like they failed. Others feel hope that a new year is like a new beginning and they can try again next year. Which one are you?

This year I have heard a few people say, “I am just not where I need to be in life” or something similar. We all have an idea of where our lives should be. But why is it that we feel like we are behind schedule on a schedule that we have never seen and one that we didn’t put together? Think about it. We do not know God’s timeline for our lives, nor do we have the full roadmap with all the things laid out. Yet we say things like, “I should be married by now”, “I should own my own home by now”, “I should be over this by now” or “I should have my own business by now”. Says who?

Who said you should be there by now? If it was God, you would be there! So it must not be God. It must be from our own plans and it’s ok to plan life out but Proverbs 16:9 says, “Within your heart you can make plans for your future, but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there.” God chooses the steps that will get us to our future. That includes when we are to take those steps and how we are to take them. So this idea of being behind is really a ploy of the enemy to drive you into running ahead of God. To drive you into believing God has forgotten about you. To drive you to into taking your life into your own hands and sit in the driver’s seat of your life so he can steal, kill and destroy your life.

As 2025 comes to a close, choose to look at 2026 full of faith that God knows what He is doing with your life. That you are right where you need to be and as you continue to trust God you will end up right where He promised He would take you. Do not run ahead of God. Do not take life into your own hands. You have an Extraordinary Strategist working on your side. Do not work against Him! Trust Jesus.

You are right where you need to be. Do not believe the lies of the enemy. He has not seen the schedule either! So only voice you need to listen to when it comes to your life is Holy Spirit. God has your best interests at heart. As we get ready to transition into 2026, break up with the lies of the enemy that have been driving you. Rest in the promise of Jesus knowing that He who promised, is always faithful to fulfill… at the right time. His time not ours. Isaiah 60:22 says, “… I am Yahweh, and when the right time comes, I will accomplish it swiftly!

Love and blessings,
