Isaiah 9:6 says, “A child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. The responsibility of complete dominion will rest on his shoulders, and his name will be: the Wonderful One, the Extraordinary Strategist, the Mighty God, the Father of Eternity, the Prince of Peace!”

Tomorrow is Christmas! How exciting and how wonderful! Jesus was born for us. He was given to us as a love gift from our Papa God. Why? Because we needed saving. Sometimes in life we get comfortable in our patterns and in our ways and we forget that we too, like the lost, still need saving. It is no longer a matter of heaven or hell but sometimes it is life or death literally or in our finances or relationships.

We need a Saviour and we will always need saving. We need to be saved and protected from the works of the enemy. We need strategy on how to overcome life’s challenges. We need strength in our weaknesses and an unlimited God when we are faced with our own limitations. We need peace in the middle of storms and joy in the middle of struggles. We need hope for our loved ones who have passed that they are with Jesus and hope for our future that it rests in His hands.

That is all found in the Person of Jesus. Jesus was born for you. You do not need to have life figured out, you need to live life surrendered to His will and His way. You do not need to stress out about being “behind” or not being “where you should be in life” you have an Extraordinary Strategist who has this amazing ability to fit all the puzzle pieces of our lives together into something beautiful. We just need to trust Him and rest in the fact that we have Jesus and we are ok.

So this Christmas, as you celebrate with family and friends or perhaps you are having a solo one this year, just take a moment to remind yourself just how blessed you are because you have Jesus. What a wonderful gift He is. Father to the fatherless, Friend, Confidant, ever present help in trouble, our very own Saviour, our Jesus.
