A time to build.

Last week we talked about not being distracted and being focused on our one thing. There is a lot that is happening in our world that is pointing to the fact that we are living in the end times. There are a lot of things that were prophesied that would show us the season of when Jesus would come back and one of the places we can find this in the Bible is in Matthew 24.

In Matthew 24, Jesus takes the time to explain to His disciples what they can expect to see before He comes back again. If we look around, everything He spoke of is already happening all around us. So it is more than likely that we are nearing the end.

However, this is not the time to panic. It is not the time to back down. It is not the time to draw back, and it is not the time to sit at home waiting for Jesus. It is a time to push forward, a time to advance. A time to build and a time to overcome.

I have heard recently people who have been saying they are ready for Jesus, they just want to wait for Jesus to return. While the return of Jesus is a good thing, there is no part of the Bible that encourages us to go sit at home and wait for Jesus’ return. Jesus spoke of the end times in Matthew 24. Then He went on to give His disciples the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 saying, “Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All authority of the universe has been given to me. Now wherever you go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.”

Jesus was not expecting that His disciples, or us, would be people who would sit at home waiting for Him to come get us. We are not scared people; we are strong people. Not because we are so great, but because He promised that He would be with us every single day until the end of the world (see Matthew 28:20 King James Version).

So what do we do in the midst of the chaos and the wars happening all around us? We stand firm on Jesus, our solid rock. We have hope (that Jesus will come back for us) as an anchor for our souls so we can stand firm in our faith. We keep building the Kingdom of God until He comes back. No one knows the day or the hour. It could be this week but what if He does not come back for another 100 years? We cannot lock ourselves up at home and do nothing with our lives. We are here for a purpose and we are equipped to be able to handle what is happening in our world right now.

We are alive in this day and age not because God made a mistake, He makes no mistakes. We are here because when He was looking at all the things that would happen in our world at this time, God looked at you and I and knew that in Him, we would be strong enough to overcome it all. God is with us, not just so He can look into our eyes all day and think how wonderful we are, but so we have power to accomplish the purpose for which He created us and withstand the times we are living in.

Now is the time to zero in on your one thing, what God has called you to do, and do it with all your might. Now is the time to ensure that we are not playing church but that we are the church. Stand firm. I’ll leave you with this, Ephesians 6:10 says, “Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.”

Love and blessings,

Melissa Tsingano
