Serve.

Last week we took a look at some power women. I mentioned how these women had a God race to run which was not necessarily limited to having children and making men look good. Now, am I saying having kids is a bad thing? Nope. I am saying, do not limit yourselves to that. There is more.

Now if God has called you to be a mom, and that’s your life’s calling then be the best mom you can be! It may very well be that one day you may be able to equip young moms and help them navigate the intricacies of being a mom to kids in different stages. We don’t know. But what we do know is that we all have different spaces to occupy. We just need to do what God has asked us to do, serve Him in that and be faithful in doing it.

I, for one, cannot wait till I am married and I can be some arm candy and a mom, haha! If you know any single, God loving men in Sydney, who have jobs (gotta be specific lol), tell them to drop by Maximize Church, I have a few single friends too, haha!

Now putting all that to one side, as much as I would love to be married and have children, I know I have a God destiny outside of that. Such that if that never happens for me, say I get raptured or something, I don’t leave this earth unfulfilled. I am not spending my days twiddling my fingers doing nothing. Quite the opposite. I am living in my God purpose now. Sometimes we get stuck focusing on what is coming in the future, that we forget to live in the now and serve God where we are now. Life is full of seasons. Make the most of every season in life.

Well, we started this series saying we want to hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” when we finally meet Him face to face. I think we’ll end there too. Matthew 25:14-30 tells us the parable of the talents. In summary, a master had three servants and was going away for a little while. To one servant he gave 5 bags of silver, to another 2 bags of silver and to the last, 1 bag of silver. While he was away, the first two servants invested the silver they were given and got a double return. The one who was given 5 bags had 10 bags of silver and the one who was given 2 bags had 4 bags of silver.  However, the third servant was terrified of the master and buried his 1 bag of silver.

When the master returned, the first servant came and showed the master his 10 bags of silver, the second servant came with his 4 bags, showing how they had doubled what they were given. The master was delighted and said, “Well done good and faithful servants.” Because they were faithful with what they had, the master decided that He wanted to give them even more. The third servant dug up his bag, shook off the dirt and came to the master with his 1 bag of silver. The master was upset to say the least. He called him a lazy and evil servant. Those are not words I want to hear from Jesus when we stand face to face.

We all have a responsibility to take what we know from the word of God and run with it. That’s our investment. We all have a God destiny. A part to play in the eternal story that is being written. But we start by doing what the word of God says to do and obeying God with what we know to do. Like with Abraham, God does not give us the full picture but as we begin to run our God race, He starts to show us more and more.

When you use what you have in your hand to run your God race, God will pour more into you and He will strengthen you to keep running and to finish your race strong. The race is rigged for you to win. The only way you lose, is if you quit. Don’t quit. Just keep running and chasing after God. Run with endurance and finish strong.

Love and blessings,

Melissa Tsingano.
